There was a lot of hoopla about the ship being rejuvenated. We hadn't been on the ship before but we thought she looked great. The crew was outstanding. We are both still working and it has been a very stressful year. Two daughters got married 3 months apart and we had to move our business. So it was very needed. This was our first time as Platinum and first time through Port Canaveral. Embarkation couldn't have been easier. Cabin was ready early and while it hadn't been renovated it looked great. It was Super Bowl Sunday and we watched the first half poolside which was very cool. Literally. We were wrapped in towels to keep warm.

We had the late seating in the MDR. Had a table for 4 and lucked into the best table mates. Food was good, better than our last trip, the waitstaff was very efficient. Actually too efficient, we were usually one of the first tables done. Ate breakfast in the Windjammer most days and it was good but it never changed. Did breakfast in the MDR one morning and went back to the Windjammer. Of course, food is completely personal.

We went to Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel. Excursions were well done. Winds were high which affected some of the excursions. Went to Red Stripe beach in Jamaica, very pretty beach but with the wind it was like being exfoliated with sand. The ice show was wonderful we went to the nightly shows and enjoyed them all except the Boston cover band. It all sounded the same. Also a number of older people left.

Cabin D1

Although not updated during the Drydock, it was still in good shape.
