Background: This trip was an annual "Beach Girls" trip for a group of women leaving spouses sig others at home. Ages range from mid-twenties to mid-forties. All 6 of us had cruised previously. This was my second cruise with Carnival and my 7th cruise. We were all in standard outside cabins with window. Rooms had adequate space & storage. Nice bedding - very comfy.

Embarkation in Miami: We arrived at the pier at around 11:00 via shuttle arranged through the hotel at a cost of $9 per person. Short line to check in - no-one looked at my competed Set Sail pass and then we were herded to chairs in a waiting area for a short wait of about 30 minutes. HINT: the chairs are lined up in rows that face each other. But they took each row singly - we were sitting facing each other in the chairs and so we ended up split up. Most annoying part of embarkation was that they had some potted palms etc which they pulled out into the hallway and then they took your embarkation photo in front of these. Pretty hokey and it was like fighting your way through a jungle just to get around them.

humorous moment - when two of the ladies found that their beds had been made from twins into a queen although they had not requested this. A problem promptly corrected by the room steward!
