Let me start by saying that this was our fifth cruise, first with Norwegian. We have done 2 with Carnival and 2 with Royal Caribbean. So we have a good feel on how thing should go when cruising. Also, on this trip there were 35 of us sailing as a group and in the end we all came to the same conclusion, we will not be sailing with Norwegian again.

Embarkation was a breeze, we got to the port around 10:30am, and around 11:30am they started boarding. It went very smooth and we were on the ship by Noon, everyone was very pleasant with the whole embarkation process. No problems here.

First Sea day was getting familiar with the Epic. Right away we noticed that the ship was not up to par compared to the other ships we have sailed on. There was a lot of rust we noticed everywhere and in our stateroom the carpet needed to be replaced. We also noticed through out the week that we would find garbage just lying around. Also, other friends of ours booked two Aft balconies, and were told they would be able to go between them on their decks, but their room steward gave them a very had time and would not open the door for them. They asked to talk to her supervisor and that never happened, so they ended up opening it themselves and closing it when they left their rooms. If they would have known this from when they booked, they would have booked an adjoining room from the very beginning.

We were in cabin 9056. For a balcony room it seemed very small. Two people could barely pass by each other. The carpet in our stateroom needed to be replaced. Like most people have said the bathroom situation is very weird, but we managed through that. Our room said there could be up to 3 people, there is no way an adult could have slept on the couch that was in our room and if it wasn't just me and my husband it would of been very awkward trying to get ready and change clothes.
