Since the cruise involved 4 sea days, my wife and I booked a corner suite (10002) on the forward, starboard corner. We had an opportunity to cruise again with a couple from Scotland that we met on a cruise out of Barcelona almost 3 years ago – great times. For its age the Spirit was definitely well maintained and its layout and décor provided a break from its bigger sisters.

Embarkation: No delay what so ever. We had spent a few days prior to the cruise in Barcelona to relive some of our experiences from a previous cruise on the EPIC. As soon the taxi arrived at the terminal, the baggage handlers were already waiting to take our bags. The terminal was relatively new and efficient. We boarded early just after Noon, and there were no waiting lines. Within 20 minutes we were in our suite, and went to Cagney’s for lunch. Our bags were waiting for us when we returned to our suite after lunch and touring the ship.

Entertainment: Not thrilled with entertainment, nor impressed with Elements show that we had hear so much about. However, there was a male quartet singing one night, and they we fantastic, as well as entertainment at Champagne Charlie’s.

Cabin Review

Penthouse with Large Balcony

Cabin SE

Suite included a combined living/dining area with bar and a 2nd room (separated by a door, not a curtain) consisting of a bedroom with a queen-size bed and bath (with 2 sinks, shower and hot tub). Main room did have a pillar with somewhat disturbed room flow, but no issue for us. While suite did show some wear, it was well maintained and served as a great space to entertain.Suite had two balconies, one forward and one on starboard side off bedroom. Front balcony was shallow but extended full forward length of suite. Forward balcony was great while ship is entering/leaving port or at dock, but no vary useful when underway due to winds. However, suite had 2 large picture windows facing forward, which provided excellent views when front balcony was no accessible. Side balcony was of a standard size, and was definitely usable while at sea. We definitely enjoyed lying in bed and looking out the side balcony or simply listening to the waves.Concierge (Karin) and Butler (Jeffery) were wonderful, responding to our every wish.
