Our cruise was from February 7th – February 12th 2015. We flew in to Miami the night before and stayed at the Embassy Suites by the airport. We had a king bed room. It was a little pricey but a nice motel. We took a taxi to the cruise terminal and I believe the cost was less than $20.00 for two of us. We arrived at the cruise terminal and were promptly checked in. We purchased a suite (7250) so we had priority embarkation/debarkation. We were ushered to a lounge where we waited for about an hour before they allowed guests on the boat. Once they started boarding we were in the first group to board. We went to our room which was ready and checked it out. This was our first suite. I would highly recommend the suites if you can swing the cost. They are about 50% bigger with a jetted tub (not quite a full size tub but close), bigger bathroom and more closet space. The deck is also about 50% bigger with 4 chairs and a small table. We spent the rest of the day getting to know the boat. The muster drill was a cluster as is usual. This was our 4th cruise and they all seem to be the same. Go to your muster station and stand for an hour while everyone assembles. A bit of a rant here. If you go on a cruise and they say the muster drill starts at 4:00. For the love of God get your butt to the station by 4:00. We had people dragging in for 45 minutes after it was supposed to start. I really wish they would do something to punish those that can’t seem to get there on time. It’s not fair to everyone else to have to stand there for an hour waiting on them. Anyway, muster drill complete, we headed to the hot tub on the Serenity Deck. This Serenity deck was the best of any boat we have been on. It was large with two stories and a couple of large rectangular hot tubs which we were in when we sailed away. The rest of the day and the next were spent roaming around the boat and going to the various bars, etc. We had big plans of going to the comedy shows, stage shows, etc. while on the cruise but didn’t make it to any of them. My wife and I did spend a lot of time together which was the main purpose of this cruise. Our stop in Jamaica started off poorly but we made the most of it. We booked an all-inclusive resort day through Resorts For a Day. We arrived in port and promptly went to our assigned check in location which was some small white tents at the end of the cruise port area. Our instructions said the bus would leave 45 minutes after the boat docked. We arrived there about 15-20 minutes after the boat docked. We checked in and waited and waited and waited. Finally after more than an hour we were taken to van. We waited in the van until everyone on the van started a mini riot and demanded they take us on to the resort. At this point we were only going to have 2-3 hours at best to use the resort before we had to head back to the port. We left the port area, made it 10 minutes down the road and the driver received a call and was instructed to come back to the port to pick up 2 more people. We decided that this was enough. We were not going to pay $200.00 to spend 2 hours at a resort so we told them we were getting off at the port. They tried to get us to stay on the bus but we were finished. I would not recommend booking anything through Resorts For a Day. They are disorganized and will waste your time. We walked back to the port area and went to Margaretville and spent the rest of the day there. We had a good time. The staff was all very fun and the drinks were flowing. The weather was beautiful. We made it back on the ship with plenty of time to spare. The next day we docked in Grand Cayman but because of rough sea conditions we had to dock on the opposite side of the island. It was a tender stop and the drop off point was really nothing more than a parking lot where some vendors had hastily set up shop. We grabbed a van and headed to 7 mile beach. We spent the day hanging out on the beach. It was a very relaxing day and the weather was perfect. The next day was an at sea day and again we roamed around the boat and spent quality time together. Our arrival back in Miami was uneventful. We took our own luggage off the boat. This is the second time we did this and I will always do it in the future. You get to leave the boat first and you don’t have to worry about sitting your luggage outside the stateroom the night before. Just make sure you can handle your own luggage because you will not have any assistance getting it off the boat. We took a taxi back to the airport in Miami and flew home. Overall this was my best cruise. I really liked the Victory. I liked the layout and the staff was all excellent. The only negative I have about the boat is the lines to eat were almost always long. The food was typical Carnival with the main dining room being the best food. Other than the lines I really have nothing but positive comments about this cruise. Job well done Carnival.

Cabin Review

Ocean Suite

Cabin OS

First time to stay in a suite. Would highly recommend it. It is about 50% bigger with a jetted tub, bigger bathroom, more storage space and just more room in general. The balcony is also about 50% bigger than a standard balcony room with 4 chairs and small table.
