On Jan. 24th we began our disappointing 10 day Western Caribbean cruise on the Granduer of the Sea, departing from Baltimore. The waters were a little rough as we rocked and rolled the entire trip. I can't remember any of our Caribbean cruises to be this unstable. On the 4th day of sailing one of our relatives was stricken with the norovirus and was confined to his stateroom. We later found out that there were several other cases that were quarantined . We had to be served everything by the staff. All the tables were washed down with some sticky cleaner and making it impossible to sit anywhere .By the time we got to Jamaica there was over 200 sick and the board of health and CDC came on board. I believe they finally told the Captain to head home early and get the ship sanitized. We did not go to Labadee,Haiti because the Captain announced there was a medical emergency on board and we must head home earlier, I truly believe that this norovirus epidemic should have been recognized earlier by the captain and we should have returned home to address the situation. This has been the 3rd time in a year that this has happened and there was a complete failure by Royal Caribbean to acknowledge the problem. I believe that the money for the cruise was more important that the safety and well being of the passengers. This was my first and last trip on by Royal Caribbean.
Very poor. On our return home, my wife and myself have been sick for two weeks. We disembarked with the virus and haven't been well yet.
