After cruising on a ship right before dry dock a year ago, and being disappointed, we made sure to select one that has had the 2.0 upgrades. Although the ship was very nice, it is starting to show it's age. I would predict it is a candidate for a makeover like the Triumph had. I am not complaining, but this is review. The first thing I noticed is that in the stateroom bathroom, the panels in the light fixture are yellowed. The wife took 5 minutes to unlock a stall in a lido deck restroom. I noticed broken ceramic tiles on the floor of the lido restaurant, & broken floor boards by the pool. The ship also lacks color changing LED lighting in the atrium, and lasers in the big theater. I was wishing I had a spray bottle of bleach whenever I used the toilet in our stateroom. The food was exemplary as always on a Carnival Ship. We got in on the last cruise for Gold members to get a free drink at the Sea Day Brunch in the MDR. Our next cruise, we'll be Platinum. We have been cruising for 11 years now, and have noticed many cutbacks. They used to have string quartets in the lobby, late night buffets with ice sculptures, and live steel drum music in the afternoons by the main pool. There were many times there was no music at all by the pool, even during sail away from ports. I don't know if there is a royalty issue for each time they play a song, but in open waters, this should not apply. I think cruises are getting less 'Fun' as time goes on. Also, there used to be a full symphony orchestra in the big theater, now they just sing to prerecorded material, however, the shows were impressive just the same. I wish Carnival would have heated water in the pools. It is exciting about the 3 Vista class ships on order. I wish Carnival would renew interest in the Pinnacle class ships proposed several years ago.

The cabin was fine, except for the panels in the light fixture were a bit yellowed, also when using the toilet, I wished I had a spray bottle of bleach handy. As always, the bed was most comfortable.
