My wife said, "let's go". I was apprehensive. 3000 passengers! Mega, mega ship! Ummnn - "Don't know" I said. So, as you guessed, we went. And it was fabulous! Boarding and embarkation are always a hassle in Sydney because of our limited cruise-liner port facilities. However the staff did their very best and it all went smoothly. Our balcony cabin was modern, spotlessly clean and spacious enough for our requirements and with a very satisfactory bathroom. The Voyager's amenities are amazing. Plenty of lounges and bars and little spaces to enjoy a drink, a coffee and read your kindle. What amazed me was the Gallery aka "The Royal Promenade" an open space of shops, ice cream bar, coffee cafe and free (yes free) pizza, sandwiches and cakes. My initial apprehension about the large number of passengers quickly disappeared. I have no idea where those 3000 others went, but they just seemed to disappear. You never, ever felt crowded (with 2 exceptions) exceptions and you can always find a quiet corner, see the bingo, a seat in the bars, a seed in the huge concert theatre and in fact a seat anywhere at any time. Those two exceptions were the initial lineup for dinner seating – and that's always a mini drama of patience that ultimately gets sorted-out and the dance-parties which were fabulous and part of the entertainment. Definitely something to be part of with lots and lots of other dancing, bumping, grinding passengers loving every minute of it. And that comment is from me who is a seventy-year old er 'young'. Food was very good with wide choices. Ports-of-call were very good. Complaints are mine – three in total – slow service in the dining room at breakfast time, a lack of entertainment during the day (heaps of entertainment every night) and not the best organised disembarkation at both ports-of-call and at our final destination. On the plus side, our personal staff – room stewed and regular dinner-time waiters – were absolutely fantastic and the standard of service from all staff was always courteous, friendly and helpful. I would give this cruise 87 out of 100 and in my book that is pretty good.

Cabin Review

Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D1

A really good cabin that was modern, light, spotlessly-clean, with mini fridge, TV, plenty of drawers, sufficient hanging space, nice bathroom, and a very attentive room-steward who really attended to our every need and was super-courteous and nice. The one thing missing was mini bathroom accessories and bathrobes.
