I went on a last minute holiday with my husband around the pacific islands. While we have been there many times before, my husband enjoys the cruising part of the holiday. We sailed in an Aqua Class stateroom on Solstice and it was a beautiful departure from Sydney. The cruise included Australia Day and we witnessed the lovely harbour, opera house , bridge and bridge climbers up top with the Australian flag blowing in the wind. As part of our inclusions with the Aqua stateroom we had access to the ""Blu" (clean cuisine) restaurant and also unlimited access to the ""Persian garden" spa. We were treated to fruit smoothies every morning delivered to our stateroom and unlimited friendly service from our stateroom steward. We have sailed with Celebrity previously around New Zealand and can recommend paying a little extra for the attention to detail involved in the service and overall enjoyment of the trip. We are not fond of Noumea, so did not get off the ship. However the other ports of Lifou, Isle of Pines and Mystery Island were most enjoyable. The crystal clear water was a wonderful refreshing temperature for swimming. Lots of the guests snorkelled and took advantage of sight seeing tours.Out of all the cruises we have taken, this was the most relaxing and enjoyable even though we had been to the ports previously. The stateroom in Aqua class (with the extra amenities), Blu restaurant with the wonderful cuisine and the friendly staff made our trip. The Australia Day celebrations were very funny and a seafood buffet was displayed for lunch along with some "meat pies"" for the 3,000 aussies onboard. Even though the quantities of the meat pies were misjudged at first, the chef supplied subsequent batches and I can honestly say that the quality of the pies were excellent. We can recommend Celebrity and booked a Europe adventure for sept. 2016 while on board making use of the special offers included.
