I take no joy in submitting negative criticism. Having said that, the following is our review of our recent cruise on the Constellation (Jan 16, 2015). We chose this cruise for the itinerary. Specifically, to visit St. Croix. After a disastrous first dining (45 minutes for ice water, another half-hour for tea), we resigned ourselves to the Oceanview Cafe for most of the cruise. The food was "okay", but lacked variety. There was absolutely no interaction with the wait staff. Not once were we ever approached during our meals. Not once! On two occasions we got dirty dishes and silverware. Cafe al Bacio turned out to be our most pleasant on-board experience. The staff there were engaging, friendly and attentive. We enjoyed our STX excursion, but it was cut short, apparently due to over-booking. The "Entertainment" on board was good. Of all the eighteen Caribbean Ports we've visited, San Juan is our favorite. Our day in San Juan on this cruise was too short. Far too short. Labadee was a nice surprise. We thoroughly enjoyed our day there. The food on-shore there at Labadee was actually very good. Probably the best we had all week. There's nothing like the smell and taste of barbeque on a Caribbean Beach. The embark/debark process was pretty good, although the escalator at Port Everglades shut down. Kinda gummed things up. We think Port Canaveral does a better job. We love to travel. We have observed that many fellow travelers seem to be clueless to the hard work required to make these travel experiences. We are not so. We deeply appreciate the hard work and commitment it takes to run a "Smooth Ship". This was our first Celebrity Cruise. We were simply expecting a more elevated experience.
