This was our 14th cruise and 2nd on Princess. We had a good time on the cruise but know that the entertainment is better on Carnival and the ships are more up to date on Royal Caribbean. I firmly believe that food is better on Princess and at dinner, the staff went out of their way to please of couple of our table mates (they should have left a bigger tip but I know that they didn't). The other positive about Princess is that they do not push alcohol as compared to other cruise lines.
Our cruise also had a giant group of people (650 I think they said) from a dog food company in Utah. I was concerned about this at first but it was a benefit because it reduced the average age of the passengers by a ton.
Sailed out of the Houston Terminal on 1/11/15, actually 10:00 am on 1/12/15 since the channel to and from the port was closed due to fog. Don't know if the ships leaving from Galveston had this problem or not. The result of the delay was that we did not go to Roatan, Honduras as scheduled but went to Costa Maya instead. Some of the crew said this was the second week in a row that they went to Costa Maya and that is was a better port than Roatan. Princess refunded the excursion we booked at Roatan but had to select something for Costa Maya.
Nice cabin with no complaints except for the lack of technology in the tv. Size was fine for 2 people. I study the deck plans carefully before selecting a cabin. I have one deck between me and the pool deck, main showroom, casino, engine room or other noisy places. This may sound crazy but I have decided to only select balconies after that cruise ship lost power a few years ago. With a balcony you can always open a window.
