This cruise to Key West and 2 western Caribbean islalnds was pretty much as expected, i e not bad and not great. The food and service was very good but my wife and I were disappointed in the entertainment. Their innovative computer screen in the main venue was great but perhaps Carnival spent so much money on that ($1.5 Million they claim) that they skimped on other entertainment. They had the same 8 dancers essentially doing the same thing 4 nights but to different music. They were very talented but too repetitious. There was no multiple piece orchestra at all(a first for us) and that is usually a highlight for us. The other smaller venues had less than spectacular entertainment except for the late night comics but their venues were too small and crowded leading in one case to a DANGEROUS crush while one group entered and another left. The food was generally very good to excellent and the various eateries around the ship like the burgers, pizza and tacos were great. The options for late night eating are inadaquate. My wife and I have taken about 14 cruises and it seems as if the caliber of the food in the regular dining rooms is lessening. For example, there were no lamb chops on the regular menu. This was a first for us. The boarding process at embarkation was quite disorganized but debarkation was good. Our balcony room was fine and the bathroom was large enough. The miniature golf course was quite good, but the shuffleboard court was in horrible condition. The cruise director, Mike, was good but nothing special and has assistants were fair. The trivia games were the usual fare and having done them on so many cruises, new ideas are needed. The prizes have gone from a decent bottle of wine 12 years ago to a ship on a stick!
Cabin very good. plenty space and large enough bath room Not enough channel choices as compared to previous cruises Cabin steward very good
