This was our third cruise in the last two months and was a big disappointment compared to ones on the Liberty and Ecstasy in December. I have read many reviews from disgruntled people and thought I would never be in a position to feel as they did. However, as we were driving home my wife said how disappointed she was. This after stating on the way home from the Carnival Liberty that she thought it was the best ever. This was our 26th cruise and any one thing by itself on this cruise would not be a big deal, but it was the number of things that made it add up to a less than "Fun" experience. Pun intended.
1. It started with a phone call and email telling us not to show up until 1:30 to board the ship, but we would still be leaving at 4 PM. Really. They can process 4000+ in that amount of time? Oh well, boarding was longer than either of the other two, but still went reasonably well. We, like many others, did not wait until 1:30 and got there around 11:30 to find many others that were already there.
2. Went to the cabin and could not get the lights on. Found out later that the cabin steward was supposed to let us know that our cards/room keys need to be inserted in a slot to get the lights on. New thing, never encountered on our previous Carnival cruises. Also, on almost all of our cruises we have not seen the room steward as we entered the room, same as on the Breeze. Maybe email this information? Not a big deal really, though.
This is a handcapped cabin with a large shower. Lots of room, but not much cabinet space. Lots of wasted space.
