This was the first time with Royal, out of 10 cruises, and we weren't really planning on a cruise this winter, but we snagged a great deal, and couldn't resist. I had heard some bad reviews about embarkation in Tampa, so had planned to arrive about 10.30 to 11am, no problems at all, got our luggage tags from the porter, went straight up into the boarding lounge, desk, and onto the ship. No line ups at all. Headed for lunch in the "Windjammer", then to the cabin, met our steward "Made" pronounced "Mady". Got ourselves aquainted with the ship. One thing to note, I had "ATD," and booked the table time for 5.45, by Internet, they didn't have any record of it, but after two nights they had us on the same table every night, which was nice had the same waiters and table mates. Our waiters, Sherlene and Wilson, were very nice, and funny. My hubby had his 79th B/D on the Sunday, and I had ordered a special cake on the Internet, and bought candles (79) which they put on and sang "happy birthday". We didn't do any "specialty dinning".
We did a beach tour in Roatan, not through the ship, and it rained all day, so left early, back to the ship. We did a "Mayan Village and Beach Tour" with the ship in Cozumel, which was very nice, the tour guide very informative. Watch when on the beaches, hubby got quite a few sand bits.
The entertainment on board was excellent, from the aerial shows to the comedians and to the singers.
Made (Mady) very nice, pleasent, cabin always clean, The shower is small, don't know what heavy people would do, we're 5.5 and 5..6.Do miss the lotions, and shampoos given with the "X"
