If you want to be totally ignored, sign up now for a Sky Suite on the Celebrity Summit. I can guarantee you that no one will take the time to treat you as a suite guest.

We save our money to take one major vacation a year, and this year we decided to cruise on the Summit and pay extra for a Sky Suite. Based on what we read in Celebrity's brochure and website, we thought this would be money well spent because of the extra amenities on the ship. Well, we figured WRONG. We had the worse butler at sea. He told us he had 12 suites to take care of, and that was too many. Whenever we asked for something, he stared at us like a deer in the headlights, so we quit asking him for anything. We wanted ice in our room in the morning and again at night. That was too much to expect. He resented any request we made, so we did without because the situation was aggravating. On the morning of disembarkation, this same "butler" kept coming in our room with a dirty rag, and he kept wiping off the glass table and counter as if he was expecting an additional tip.

Not once did we get a personal invitation sent to the cabin for a cocktail party or any special event. When I mentioned this to one of the staff, they said they were participating in the "Save the Waves" program and were going paperless. Well, it's OK to send flyers up to the cabin advertising art auctions and jewelry sales, but it's totally out of the question to send an invitation to an event.
