We sailed on the Oasis of the Sea for 8 days/7 nights in mid January 2015. It was our first cruise and any expectations were exceeded regarding the ship. It truly is a floating city with anything we could ever want. Our cabin--a external balcony room on deck 8-- was spacious, impeccably clean and our cabin steward was kind, friendly and completely focused on making sure we had anything we needed. Fun towel sculptures were great surprises! We did not do an excursion on Labadee--but we did rent floating lounges. We spent the time in the water and enjoying the beach. (We avoided the retail area after being warned by friends that the sellers were quite pushy). Jamaica was our next stop. We did the Dunn River Falls/Tubing on the White River excursion. BIG MISTAKE. The Dunn River Falls was ok, the guides were attentive but we did spend considerable time helping less able bodied adults safely navigate the climb. It is a vigorous climb and is not for those who cannot tolerate moderately strenuous activity. The Tubing was a waste of time and the "guides" basically followed us to the bus wanting more tips. The excursion also included a "cruise" which was a ride on a fishing boat--really--....and lunch was awful, at an older, second rate resort that was well past it's prime. Don't waste your money or time on the tubing. Honestly, the next time we cruise, if Jamaica is a port of call, we will stay on the ship. Last port was Cozumel which was good. We did the 3 reef snorkeling excursion which was well managed and very good. The reefs were considerably damaged from hurricanes, so the reefs themselves are sparse. The guides were very good at pointing out really cool things to see for all of us. We dined nightly in the American Icon Grill--our waiter was superb. She was about as perfect as we could imagine...attentive, accurate and anticipated our needs. She knew our names and we adored her. Our drink steward was incredible. He would have our drinks waiting for us after he met us the first night. Entertainment was excellent, from the ice skating show, diving show, comedy show and the tribute show--we were very entertained. Throughout the entire cruise, from boarding to disembarkation, we felt valued by the RCI team members. We truly felt they loved their jobs.
