If you're looking for a classic relaxing cruise on a beautiful and elegant ship, this is the ticket. The Westerdam and Holland America in general doesn't go for a lot of the modern day amenities like rock walls, zip lines, ice rinks, etc. Instead, what you get is quiet pools, promenade deck lounge chairs, relaxing crows nest, clean ship, great service, friendly staff and very few kids (heard there was less than 50 on this cruise). This is classic cruising at its finest. The food quality, selection and service in the dining room is excellent. We ate in the Lido most breakfasts and lunches and we were very happy. Lido is never too crowded. The entertainment was OK. Comedian Kevin Jordan was the highlight and we were wishing that he performed another night. The two pools are spacious enough and are quiet and relaxing. We loved the Crows nest...very comfortable and quiet except for the occasional person who thinks everyone in the room is interested in their conversation! Best part of our cruise was our suite. My advice...pay a little more and treat yourself to one of these fantastic cabins. So much room and storage space, two sinks, shower and separate whirlpool tub/shower and much larger veranda. Embarkation was easy and quick. Disembarkation is never easy and quick.

Fantastic cabin...may never go back to just a veranda cabin.
