We sailed on a Southern Caribbean Cruise out of San Juan. We had read mixed reviews of the Summit and weren't quite sure what to expect (we'd sailed twice on the Constellation and thoroughly enjoyed it), so we were happy to find we really liked the Summit. There were some spots where she was showing her age, but overall the ship was looking good since the recent refurbishments. She is a smaller ship so it was easy to get around and not feel overwhelmed.
We had been in contact with a few people from Cruise Critic Roll Call and it was so nice to be able to meet them at the Sailaway and the CC Connections Party. We went ashore with some of them and had lovely days together.
We had an ocean view stateroom with verandah and were very happy with it. It was well laid out with enough room for everything - lots of storage. Clean, well-lit bathroom also had good storage. There were a couple of cracked tiles but no big deal. Peter, our stateroom attendant and his assistant Harry did a wonderful job. I find the pillows too soft, but Peter had firmer pillows brought to us almost immediately.
Very nice, clean stateroom with small verandah. The stateroom was very efficiently designed with lots of storage space. We enjoyed sitting out on the verandah.
