My friend and I decided to take a cruise in celebration of this year being the year we celebrate our 50th birthdays. We found a great rate on Carnival which was just what we were looking for. The Fascination is pretty much showing her age of 21. While they have refurbished this ship a few times she still has the older feel. What made this cruise a great cruise was completely the responsibility of the crew. From the engine crew to the dining crew to the entertainment staff to the cabin stewards, this was probably the best cruise I have been on compared to the previous two Carnival cruises.

Weather took it's toll on our itinerary as high winds and heavy seas made it impossible to tender ashore at Little Stirrup Cay. This also caused many shore excursions in Nassau to be cancelled. They ended up adding Freeport on to the itinerary which ended up being a nice change even though I have been to Freeport twice before.

Food was just OK. The buffets main problem was they put the food out too early which ended in a lot of the dishes being cold. Once again the burgers and fries and the pizza ended up being the better choice mostly. The formal dining room was staffed with he most friendly members. Our server knew our names it seemed even before he met us. The Captain's Dinner was the usual lobster tails and shrimp but there was no presence of the Captain that we could see.

Mattresses needed changing. They were worn out pretty good from overuse and that was a big disappointment since Carnival usually took pride in their bedding. Room was ample size and the bathroom was probably a bit larger than I expected. A/C worked really well. Not having a refrigerator was something that I was expecting but it would have been nice to have one in the room. No blow dryer but I did not need one since I keep my hair short.
