Traveled with children

My wife and I booked a cruise thru our travel agent for 6 adults and 2 children to celebrate our son's graduation from college. We are not new to cruising having cruised a couple of times from Florida to the Bahamas, a couple of times from LA to Mexico, an Alaskan inside passage cruise and a couple of cruises out of Galveston but we had not cruised out of New Orleans or used Norwegian Cruise Lines.

The cabins were pretty standard but the beds were hard as rocks. It was also our first time to experience "free style" dining and I have to say it didn't really agree with us. Our problem with it was that you couldn't make a reservation in either of the main dining rooms between 6-9pm and with a group of 8 there was always a wait for a table that could accomodate us in the evening.

The service was excellent from all of the staff that we came in contact with. The entertainment was top-notch as were the activities and the children's clubs. The shore excursions were well organized and interesting.
