This was a father/son trip. My son was 7yo at the time of the cruise, and I was 36. We departed from Seattle, the Marriott Waterfront hotel is directly across the street and was an easy walk for us to make. The cruise ship had it's +'s and-'s. The staff was absolutely wonderful. Everywhere I turned there was scaring and eager staff member.
The food was neither lights out great, nor run of the mill. The food was fresh and tasty. The endless soft serve ice-cream was a popular stop for my son....and I must confess that I never protested stopping by the ice-cream machine. We really got a kick out of the ice sculptures and fruit animals. They really tried to make the food fun. The Czars dining room is spectacular. The peking duck was very nice.
Our cabin was an ocean view, as seen between two life boats. It was what one would expect from a cruise ship cabin. The ship itself was very nice. I wasn't crazy about the kids program, and only had my son there one day. The Nickelodeon character events were fun for the younger kids. The pool area was very ordinary and my son had little desire to hangout. My son did enjoy the large outdoor chess board, the golf driving range (though it wasn't all that convenient) and the shuffle board. The comedian and magician were wonderful sources of entertainment during the cruise.
