With 16 cruises under my belt and every one of them scheduled to fly in on the day of embarkation, it was bound to happen. We missed the boat due to last minute flight changes and de-icing. I've learned to just roll with the punches and make the best of the situation, and fortunately my husband is the same way. Long story short, we met the boat in Barbados after they had the first day at sea. We actually got to spend about 30 hours in Barbados, longer than planned, but at least we found a place to watch the Green Bay Packer play off game with the Cowboys. That was our #1 concern, second to getting on the ship.

Once on the Summit all went well. There was several reviews stating that the Summit was tired and old and showed it's age even though it was renewed in 2012. I didn't see any of that. The Summit is an elegant vessel, easy to navigate it's layout, and the decor was very tasteful. Our stateroom was spacious and we enjoyed the perks of the Concierge Class.

I have become numb to many of the shows in the theater because I feel that they are too similar on every cruise. The only show we went to was a group called "The Unexpected Boys" who replicated a Jersey Boys theme remarkably well, and ended the show with something unexpected.

Cabin Review

Concierge Class 1

Cabin C1

Very spacious room with an oversized balcony (aprox. 8x10). Champagne, daily appetizers, umbrella, binoculars, upscale bedding are all the little things for this class of stateroom. What was missing was the fresh flowers, the chocolates on the pillow at night, and the towel animal creations.
