We are long term (15 year) Platinum cruisers with Princess. We sailed on the Golden Princess for its first maiden voyage in 2002 in the Caribbean. It was a wonderful experience back then. We sailed 18 months ago with Princess on the Baltic Sea from Denmark to St. Petersburg back to Denmark, this cruise was wonderful. Now to the review...

Our second sailing on the Golden Princess to mark their 50th anniversary celebration is rated way below expectations. Some specifics:

Embarkation in Rio de Janiero was a disaster for Platinum members. There was no organization and no one to receive the Platinum folks for the preferred boarding. In short it was chaos.

Comfortable but definitely worn out. Day and night from our 2002 inaugural maiden voyage on the Golden Princess. A renovation is in order. Black mold in the shower is unacceptable'Once of the desk drawer did not function, sliding mechanism was damaged. TV remote could barely operate the TV.
