We left our hotel a couple of miles away at 10:00 and were on board by 12:15. Nice to have plenty of time to work out any issues with dining, etc. We went to eat at the buffet, it was overcrowded and if you could find a table there were no place settings, those were being put on tables by staff but it was too busy to keep up with the need. You are better off eating before you board. We had a dining time of 5:30 in the Concerto dining room. Dinner took about 1 hr. 30 min each night for 3 courses and dessert. Amarin and Ares were very attentive, and polite. Food was always very good to excellent. Reserve deck chairs very early on days at sea, they go quickly. One oddity is the layout of the handwashing station/bathrooms as you enter the Horizon Court/Buffet. From the pool this is the nearest restroom. So you enter intending to use the restroom but because the handwashing station is first you are greatly encouraged to wash hands and feel the need to explain that you are just using the restroom, and not getting food. The same occurs if you are just wanting to access the stairs or elevators at the back of the ship to get to your cabin from the pool. Piazza was beautiful. Crew obviously still settling in but they seemed to warm up as the week went by and get friendlier and more comfortable. In terms of Entertainment we only saw the comedian, who did a great job. The theater never did fill completely, but perhaps because that was his second day? Loved hearing the Love Boat theme play. The shows and movies on the tv are great. Bingo was typical. The skywalk is cool. Our children were in an inside cabin, I prefer this new layout to the one on the Golden.

Balcony

Cabin BE

About the size we were used to from the Golden Princess. The step in the shower is a great addition. Bring along a universal tv remote for ease with the tv, the extra channels and movies are a great addition. The balcony is pretty small, fine if you are going to stand out there and watch for a while or take pictures, but not if you spend all your time out there. View from this cabin was great. No one looks down on your cabin. I often smelled the faint odor of garbage, as if I was too close to a dumpster. Never did figure out where it came from. Our children were in an inside cabin, which has a nicer floor plan than those on the Golden. Feels more roomy.
