This was my 9th cruise and was by far the best. I gathered with friends from the cruise critic roll call and my old pals from previous cruises and we joined together on FB to coordinate efforts to get this one booked together. We had a group of about 40-50 people. We planned events for each day (1 day took a break) but boy it was so much fun! I was never into the boat activities... leave that stuff to the old farts.
We had the typical meet and greet, followed by a martini hour, Cards against Humanity (have to buy this!!!), dressed up as pirates one night, had our own mardi gras parade (brought the beads and dressed up), and oh.... can't forget, this was a Halloween cruise. After dressing up, we had a cabin crawl and danced the night away. I always recommend meeting other friends on the cruises. They truly become your friends for life.
Now on to the ship, wonderful!!! Embarking was the typical, long lines, waiting to hit the gang way. But I've learned, you just take deep breaths until you got that sea card in your hands. Then the party is ready to begin. People who complain about this process are wasting their time when they could just wait patiently and enjoy the moment when it comes.
The lido balcony was awesome!!!! This room is very close to the elevators and pool. I recall a night or two when music could be heard from the pool area. If you are a light sleeper and hit the bed before 10pm, this may not be the cabin for you. Also, the door faces the hallway/atrium which means people can see right in your room when walking by. This didn't bother me too much. I would have thought there would be more noise from people walking by, but this was not the case. I would book this cabin again for sure.
