I'm a travel agent, and my agency business partner and I took a short cruise on the Divinia to check out this ship. We had both been on the MSC Poesia in 2010 so had previous experience with MSC. We did not board the ship until 1:30 p.m. on Sunday January 11, and we disembarked this ship at 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 13. We could not wait to get off.

The Port of Miami is not that easy to get to, and we found out when we got there that there is no close parking near terminal F which is where the Divina was parked. It also cost us $40 to park at a lot that was for a different terminal. Luckily, we didn't have that many bags, so we could drag them ourselves to the main entrance for terminal F. It's not pleasant, and very inconvenient. We would advise you to find an off site parking lot and take their shuttle to and from the port. We stayed the night before in Plantation FL, and it was about a 30 min drive on a Sunday morning to get down to the port. On our return, it was a little nerve wracking driving through Miami's rush hour traffic. We were just glad to get out of there early before the traffic got any worse.

Now about our experience. The service on this ship was terrible, the food was mediocre, and the ship was dirty. Every where we looked there was dirt. There was visible dirt, fingerprints and dust on the floors, the mirrors, the doors - every where. Our cabin was not clean when we boarded, and it was not cleaned until after 3:00 p.m. There were always cleaning carts in the hallways at any time of the day or night. There was a cleaning cart parked outside the door to the ladies bathroom next to our dining room constantly. It was never put away. There were dirty finger prints on the dining room doors, as well as on mirrors. Even outside on the pool and recreation decks there was dirt. Nothing any where on the ship ever looked clean to us. Every time I used a public bathroom they were dirty. When eating up in the food court, we noticed that there were always trays of dirty dishes sitting around. If the front of the house is dirty, what does the back of the house look like? The ship's hotel manager ought to be fired.

Cabin Review

Cabin 12

Not that great a room and the beds and pillows were terrible. Our balcony was tiny and had an obstructed view. WE DID NOT BOOK AN OBSTRUCTED VIEW. Our room steward was nice, but they all seemed to do their work slowly. It took them all day to clean the rooms, and as I mentioned before, there were always cleaning carts in the hall as well as trays with dirty dishes on them sitting on the floor. It just never felt clean to me the entire time I was in the room. The TV in the room is TINY and not very easy to watch.
