First time review for me; however, I have sailed on the Carnival Valor, Victory and Freedom prior to this cruise. This booking was a little bit different as it was a last minute booking and the rate was RIDICULOUS! I'm not sure if it was a glitch in Carnivals system, but I noticed one night there were rates listed as low as $25/PP. As I was looking through all of these extremely low rates, the site crashed and was down for a bit. A few days later, I noticed similar rates starting at $50/PP. This time, I was able to book a 5-day cruise on the Triumph (January 12th Departure). The balcony rooms were $75/PP so basically... for a booking that was under $400 for 2... I have no complaints!!!!!!

The most important thing to me while rushing to get this cruise booked, was that the ship be an upgraded 2.0 Fun Ship. I didn't want to risk losing the rate, so I quickly booked on this ship. One quick note, if you have booked a cruise transfer through Carnival, you will not be able to book FASTER TO THE FUN! This was a little bit disappointing as the day before our cruise, there was one faster to the fun available (I'm guessing due to a last minute cancellation) and I was not able to secure this. Even after calling Carnival, there is nothing they can do to override this.

Upon arrival at the port (after short closing of the pier due to fog), the check in process was fairly smooth. No issues even with the late arrival of the ship. Once we boarded, our room was all set for us. I was a little concerned as the carpet on our deck was two toned, initially I thought it was lighting; however, it was due to some type of water damage so it appeared. When we got to our room, it was nice; however, the TV was a tube TV and the leather couch was a bit dingy. I was expecting a brand new flat screen and couch considering this ship has underwent 2.0 upgrades.... maybe it has another dry dock appointment scheduled to complete it?

Convenient location if you can deal with a little bit of noise. Right next to the Atrium elevators so you can hear everything going on in the Atrium bar. Right next to the stairs by the main show lounge and shops.
