Prior to our cruise we flew to Ft. Lauderdale two days early. Since were from the North East in January we thought that was a safe bet given the winter weather. We stayed two nights at the Holiday Inn Express Airport and Cruise. I would recommend this hotel. It was clean and adequate for a two night stay. They have a free shuttle to and from the Ft. Lauderdale airport. There are several restaurants and supermarkets within walking distance should you need a meal or a last minute item. The have a shuttle to the cruise port, however I’m not sure if there is a nominal charge. We used it last year and found it a bit crowed and somewhat confusing as they have different shuttles for different departure times and ships. We took a cab to the cruise port which is relatively close and was about a 10 minute ride if that. The cab cost $10.50 so for us it was worth it.

Embarkation:

I always arrive early and got to the port at about 11:35AM. Porters had our bags, we were through security and had completed check in and were on the ship before noon. This is the second time I have from sailed from this port (Port Everglades) and have found it easy and fast both times.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D2

Cabin was clean and was a standard balcony room that we were used to. It appeared well taken care of and maintained. We were near both elevators and stairwells. We did not hear much noise from the decks or elevators. Overall we were very pleased with this room and its location.
