We just returned from 7 days on the Sunshine, and the days were more like weeks on this ship. This was our 7th cruise on Carvinal, and might be our last. We were told about the problems, but told ourselves no ship could have all of those issues. It started when we checked into our room. I was told that the room would have a cooler, or a mini bar to store my med's. No cooler no problem just get with guest services and get one ordered. Just ask for ice until we get the cooler. Will the ice never came, but after about five hours we got the cooler, no big deal. Going to sleep in the room was another story! Once the ship started to make speed around 18 knots the noise started. It sounded like someone was attempting to get in the door, and sounds like the closets ere going to pull away from the wall. At 3 A.M. the asst. Hotel manager came to the room, and called Maintance but nothing could be done. Five minutes later the manager gave us two sets of ear plugs. Best be could do! Guest services did not care, and my request to speak to a supervisor was acted on. A person got sick and they turned the ship around and we lost an entire day to include our day in San Juan. So, they decided to add another day at Sea, so they could sell more drinks. Swimming pool is half the size on other ships. In adult area pool was the size of two hot tubs put together. You could do nothing put stand up in it. No place to sit on deck, food was so-so, service was not good. The saying the customer is right, is not true on the Sunshine. Do not book this ship!

Noise so bad all they can do for you is give you a set of ear plugs. That is not a lie, or a story. When we reported the noise problem and was verified by the Asst. Hotel Manager we were give a set of orange ear plugs like used in the military. Guest services would do nothing, and would not let me speak with a supervisor. When we had a problem on another cruise, at least they sent us a letter reflecting they were sorry, and the problem would be fix when they reached port.
