My wife and I were renewing our vows and arranged for our kids and their spouses, my in-laws and my parents to go with us. I also invited a couple from work since they had never been on a cruise and wanted to go with someone they knew. This was my 4th cruise and my wife's 3rd, all with RCI. Our last cruise, last January, was a bit of a disappointment as we felt the service was not very good and the crew was not very helpful or friendly. This cruise was the exact opposite.

Overall, this was the best cruise I've been on so far. Every RCI employee we met was outstanding. The entire crew was always smiling and friendly. The very few issues we had were solved without problem or delay. The weather wasn't great, but you take what you can get cruising in early January.

Boarding: We showed up at the terminal about a half hour before boarding started. The check in process was very quick and we were ready to get on the ship in just minutes. It was very well organized and smoother than the Galveston experience.

Cabin Review

Grand Suite

Cabin GS

The room is laid out a little differently than other Grand Suites because it sits on an aft corner. The bed is at an angle, not square to the side. There was plenty of room for us to put 12 people in the suite and be comfortable. The bathroom is huge and has a full size tub that made showering easy. The deck isn't as deep as other aft decks but is still big enough for 2 loungers, 2 chairs and a table with walking room to spare. The bar along the wall was nice as we didn't lose any floor space to it. There was plenty of storage, we didn't even use all the drawers/cabinets and we are well accomplished over-packers.The only negative about the room was the noise from the Windjammer. It wasn't bad but I can see how light sleepers would have issues with it. There was a lot of noise from chairs scraping on the deck. It wasn't so bad that it kept us awake.
