We purchased this cruise as Christmas gifts for our family. We booked 3 balcony staterooms on the Verandah Deck. This cruise ship is old and needs lots of work. We were completely satisfied with our staterooms and our room steward was awesome. He cleaned our room everyday by 9:00 am and straightened it again in the afternoon and had us turned down by 8:00 pm every night. Our wait staff in the dining was so so. They seemed very confused and over worked. If we asked for something additional it would throw them into a tail spin and messed up the rest of dinner service. It seemed our table was always the last be served, leaving the food not as hot as it would have been if served immediately after being prepared. The bar staff was down right rude at times. We encountered several bar tenders that were rude and would ignore you unless you were standing in front of them. We have several staff to thank for making our trip awesome. Jose and Benjie near the pool were awesome. The female bartender in the Punch-liner Comedy Club was the rudest bartender we ever dealt with while on vacation. You could tell she totally disliked her job, sorry for her luck! The entertainment on this cruise is lacking. We found the shows very bland. However, we do realize that this is very short trip and expected different shows every evening but found that the same show, games, comedians every evening. The food in the buffet was deplorable. My husband and I have been on several cruises prior to this one and have never experience such a small selection of food with presentation looking like the local Golden Corral, which probably would have been an upgrade. Thankfully we only ate at the buffet 2 times, once for lunch and once for dinner. We have decided that we will probably never cruise Carnival again. We don't feel like we received the service we paid for. This ship needs a lot of work!
