I cruised on the December 7, 2014 Pacific Cruise out of Sydney - first cruise with RCL , Previously we've done a 17 night Pacific many years back although more recent cruises have been in the Mediterranean and in Asia. All in all the Rhapsody cruise was fun and made even better because it was a holiday we took with good friends. The best thing about the Rhapsody is not the ship, it's the entertainment, food and fun. Its not a super sophisticated ship - but you are likely to have fun!

First the not so good:..

The Rhapsody isn't new - there are signs of older paint on the exterior of the ship and the cabin decor is 80s peach inspired ( although I'm reliably informed that this is RCL signature stateroom style). On embarkation I noticed the tiled main pool surrounds looked a bit moldy or the grout was discoloured. I also noticed a slice of lime stuck in the door of one of the main lifts and it remained there for quite a while...yes these are small things but gave the impression that all was not as shipshape as could be.
