I took this cruise out of New Orleans with a group of lady friends. I didn't expect a lot so was not disappointed. The ship is obviously older but has very recently been refurbished. It was clean and well maintained..
I had a Junior Suite which was very nice. The sitting area had a small sofa and a very nice good sized chair plus a table big enough for room service breakfast. Storage was fantastic--many drawers plus a walk-in closet.
The bathroom was also nice--good lighting and mirrors and plenty of hot water. However no electrical outlets and the shower curtain was too short and a shower created a minor flood. Also the supplied shampoo and conditioner were terrible. Warning--bring your own.
Friends had balcony cabins which had obviously been created from Ocean View. They were very small, had minimal storage, and were poorly arranged with the "sitting area" on the inside.
My cabin attendant was great but I think that was not the usual level.
Some of the hospitality staff were not as proficient in English as they might have been. For example the director of the trivia game could not pronounce the clues.
Service in the main dining room was poor--very slow, mixed up orders, food not cooked as ordered. Room service selection was very limited but breakfast was delivered very promptly.
The elevators were ridiculous-not nearly enough of them, very slow, would not stop even though totally empty. They became the joke of the ship.
