Our family thoroughly enjoyed this cruise. We loved the ship and the ports (with one exception). Even though the ship is right around a year old, it still comes across as brand new. There is plenty to do across a wide range of categories. You will read plenty of reviews that the only way to get good food was to go to the specialty restaurants and pay extra. We did zero specialty restaurants (unless you want to count Illusionarium) and had no problem eating well and enjoying the food. Our only issue was with O'Sheehan's. Both times we ate there the service was slow. One of the waiters was downright surly. That was the only time though that the wait staff was less than stellar. All other times we ate in the MDRs, the wait staff were exceptional. We liked the Eastern Caribbean itinerary of St. Maarten & St. Thomas. Nassau, not so much. In fact, we only got off the ship in Nassau long enough to say we did. Otherwise we stayed onboard and enjoyed the empty ship that day.

Cabin Review

Mid-Ship Balcony Stateroom
Cabin BA 14216
We really liked this cabin. It is arranged where the bed is close to the balcony (I think all cabins rated for four people are set up this way). We also liked that we were fairly close to the aft staircase and only one deck below the buffet. It is on the port side. It is too high and tucked under the deck above to see the fireworks.

Port & Shore Excursion Reviews

  • Nassau
We stayed onboard the ship for this port. The kids were interested in visiting Atlantis, but the excursion prices were too high in my opinion. We were able to use the shipboard amenities (like the water slides and ropes course) with no lines while most everybody else were ashore.

  • St. Maarten
We did the Jeep Tour shore excursion. It drives you around the whole island with stops for the highlights. We had time to swim at Orient Beach. Time to shop in Marigot. And time to take pictures of airplanes landing at Maho Beach. We also had time to sit in Philipsburg's famous afternoon traffic ;). The guides were knowledgeable and friendly. They did a pretty good job of keeping 13 jeeps together and on time. Be warned that there is some walking as sometimes there isn't parking close to the stops. The longest walk time was 7 minutes, but it came at the warmest part of the day.

The ziplining excursion company was a highlight of this entire cruise. Their staff were incredibly awesome. They were friendly, courteous, professional, and fun. I really can't say enough positive things about them.
