Overall we enjoyed our Cruise on the Vision of the Seas. We booked the cruise last minute and our options were limited. For what we paid, I think it was a good value, but we have been previously spoiled by Disney Cruise Lines and we found the overall service and amenities were not bad, but lacked any sort of "wow factor" with the exception of our stateroom attendant who was great.
Embarkation was a dream - we arrived at the port a little late (2:30pm - which I would highly recommend) and just walked on, no line-ups at all.
Food in the main buffet restaurant was very good. They had staples that were consistent for each meal including a great salad bar and a good variety of different foods each day with different country theme. We only ate in the main dining room twice as food wasn't great (toughest pork chop I've ever had) and for the late dinner service (8:00pm), the services was just too slow (our main course would be served after 9:00pm.). The food in the specialty Japanese restaurant was very good. Room service was included and the food was decent, but it was always about a 1-1.25 hour wait.
Cabin was fine, balcony was great, a little dated, but very clean and practical.
