We spent 5 nights on New Year's Cruise on QV. We have been on QM2 4-5 year's ago, so we were looking forward to an amazing New Year's celebration.

The reason why we chose Cunard is that we love dancing, and Cunard is almost the only Cruise line that caters for dancers. The Queens room is a fantastic venue, but the music was really disapointing. The Queens room orchestra doesn't reaally have any idea about ballroom dancing music and even less about latin music. Most of it was some kind of boring jazz of which they tried to make latin music by adding very vague basic latin rhythm. Most of their songs had extended jazz style solos that had nothing to do with either latin or ballroom dancing music. The Singer was propably the worst I ever heard. As I spoke with some of our fellow passagers who spent a lot of time on yte dance floor, they all shared my opinion. The band and DJ at Hemispheres played some real nice music for dancing and even asked what we wanted to hear, which saved the Cruise as far as dancing.

I have red lots of comments about the quality of Cunard getting worse since it was bought by Carnival. Sadly, I'm inclined to aggree with those comments. I*m not saying that the food was bad (eccept one occasion) but it was nowhere close to what I expected after being on QM2..It was just average, no better than RCL or Costa-
