My husband and I have sailed with Carnival, Norwegian, Celebrity, Princess, and RCL. This was our tenth cruise; fourth with RCL. We LOVE cruising and are relatively easy to please. We come happy and with a good attitudes. We arrived to the pier around 12:30 and left our bags tagged with our stateroom with the luggage porters. We waited half a hour at the security check point before being let in. I thought we had "Priority" having sailed with them before, but that only works after you get through security. Once past that the rest was quick and efficient with our paperwork done online. Always so excited and eager to see a new ship, we dropped our bags in our room which was clean and ready and ran around to get the layout.
Our room was clean and tidy with plenty of storage for our five night trip. We were quite pleased with the size of the balcony, although the shower was tiny (and I'm a small person) with poor water pressure and my husband chose to shower in the locker room instead. The bed we found to be a bit firm and asked for an egg crate the next day from Nadia, our room attendant, who kindly obliged. She was awesome! Our luggage did not arrive until about 6pm, which I believe to be a bit later than usual. Sail away was great. Many ships left that day so it was neat to see them lined up in the distance, disappearing into the horizon before we left ourselves.
We ate in the Main dining room, Portofino, Windjammer, and Chops. Typically, we can find some buffet item we like. A solid "go to" but not this time. Ok, the fries and roasted pumpkin wedges were good but honestly even the International dishes weren't as good as other ships. Everything was bland, watered down, or tough. The Main Dining Room was very solid both food and service wise. Naturally the restaurants with an up charge were best. The pizza is nothing to write home about (Princess has that one) and the snacks at the Promenade Cafe were weak. No cookies?
