Traveled with children

I sailed over Thanksgiving with my wife and two sons, ages 6 and 4. This was my 16th cruise and second with NCL. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised and satisfied with this cruise for what I paid for it. Initially it was priced at $749 pp, but I paid $429pp. for inside cabins. I loved the design of this ship. Maybe the most hip and modern ship I've ever sailed on. The waterfront is just awesome. Great idea. We spent numerous nights watching the sunset, hanging out and grabbing a cocktail. The best part; no one seemed to know about it until later in the week! Never felt crowded. Speciality restaurants were really good. Main dining room was just ok. Service was fast and efficient. The kids program rocks and gives Disney cruise line a run for the money. No issues here whatsoever, my kids loved it, staff were always pleasant. Debarkation, quick and easy.

The negatives:

Buffet gets old really fast. The same breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day. The pool deck just plain SUCKS! There are only two pools and the kids pool is squeezed between the slides and the splash park with no real place for parents to sit. The other pool is adults only, it's never overly crowded and the kicker is they have nickelodeon shows by that pool. The same pool where kids aren't allowed. Makes no sense! Room steward was unattentative and never took away the empty glasses in the room. Nightly entertainment is dull, the same as every other cruise line. The Sunset Bar is a Key West themed bar. And anyone who's ever been to Key West knows there's a guy playing a guitar singing songs in almost every bar. I think NCL dropped the ball here.
