My husband and I are from Indiana; so a winter cruise to the Caribbean was like a dream come true. I do not like to fly; so we drove to Cape Canaveral....we broke it up into 2 days so we could stop and see family in GA on the way down.

We booked our trip for the Carnival Liberty New Years Cruise sailing from Dec 27 to Jan 3 just a couple months in advance - and we got pretty lucky as the ship was packed. We got a good balcony room on Deck 8. We got the balcony room for views and because we were smokers; unfortunately they banned smoking on balconies a few months before :( We bought E cigs thinking that would help in the mornings; but those were banned also? Not fully understanding THAT rule since there is no open flame or tar residue; but oh well - we were banned; it was fine

I enjoyed lounging around Deck 10 in the smoking area and just hanging out up there while sailing was heaven - the evenings were beautiful - we were blessed with perfect weather

The room was perfect - lots of drawers and cupboards; bathroom spacious and comfortable - even took a nap out on the balcony!! very clean and room steward was top notch!
