I will not write a super long review, but this was my 36th cruise, 14th on RCCL. I'm 39, male, single, and fun loving and love traveling, and a Diamond member on RCCL. I went on this cruise with my one other friend, male, 32, single. (Note, I had been on this ship in November 2014 on a 2 day Sampler Cruise, as a guest of my travel agent roommate that got it, the booze, and the fastest internet for free for us.) First, the November cruise was great, boarding was super quick and easy, internet worked great, dining went super easy, only problem on that one was that 75% of the passengers were travel agents with free booze packages. It took forever to get drinks at any bars! But it was free... so that was dealt with.) Now for this December cruise reviewed, it was nowhere as smooth as the 2 day cruise. Boarding was a joke. There was a huge line of traffic even getting to the taxi/drop off area. My friend and I got out of our Uber and walked 0.5 miles down the entrance to the boarding area. There they couldn't find my credit card on file and then couldn't get it to take for like 10 minutes, with lots of people waiting around us to use our guy checking us in with his tablet. Finally, he got it to work. But on the last night of the cruise, I got a notice on my door saying that my credit card was declined. The following morning (disembarkation) I had to go to Guest Services and they ran my card and it worked fine. Annoying also as I went to buy a fine jewelry watch on the cruise and my ship card didn't work for that. I had to go get the same credit card from the safe and the fine jewelry store ran my Amex fine. The ship had me on a "cash" account, even though I had entered my CC # month's before online.

Dynamic Dining was a joke. They couldn't find our reservation the first night at American Icon Grill. Even though it was showing in our iQ apps. They got us a seat in about 20 minutes though, but sate us in an area that was nearly empty. Why the wait? The service is so slow, we waiting an hour between seating and having a lackluster appetizer and our main course, so we just got up and left. (Note, I had had lunch here on my 2 day November cruise and the food is awful anyhow, thought it would have been better. It was not.)

Bar service on this ship was perfect, no long waits to get drinks. We had the Premium Package and it worked just fine. The robot bar makes gross drinks. Fun to watch, not consume. Loved the bar staff at the Schooner Bar, 270 bar and wine bar especially.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Obstructed Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin DO

The room was nice. Very private balcony, the furthest forward balcony room has metal on both sides, so can't see or hear the people next to you. It's a rounded opening on the balcony, very nice. Room was fine. Why do they now hide the tissues in the cabin dresser? Is the bathroom not a good place for them anymore? But overall I recommend this room, though it is a walk to nearly everything, all the way forward and Deck 8, so don't book it if you don't want exercise.
