Sail Date: Dec 2014

We sailed for 10 days out of Papeete, Tahiti to several of the Society Islands. Our journey started with a fantastic travel agent from Paul Gauguin. We flew out of LA on Tahiti Nui. At the airport everyone was friendly and the process of checking in was average. The flight is long - 8 hours, but not overly excrutiating even for my husband and I who are both 6 foot tall. We had the midnight flight. When we arrived at Papeete we were transported to the ICH Tahiti with the use of a day room until time to board the ship. This was a welcome rest due to the long flight. We were transported to the ship and boarding was flawless. The process was on-board and as soon as you signed in you were taken by your cabin steward to your room. Shanronette was a wonderful steward and explained the room to us. She took very good care of us for 10 days! The ship is showing some signs of age but it is kept spotless. We had a room with a balcony and really enjoyed it. We would get room service coffee every morning and just watch teh view. The entire crew was always smiling and chatty. They do this without the option of after cruising tipping. Breakfast included a lot of variety and the food was very good. Charlie was our waiter there and he was so sweet and always laughing. Most dinners were at the La Veranda. The maitre de, Lubo was pleasant and often funny. He made sure we were seated where we wanted every night. Our wine steward, Eduardo was fantastic! Not being nickled and dimed to death over wine and other alcohol was worth the money. Our water, Rolan, was so pleasant and attentive. They were all great and when we left the ship we felt like we were leaving friends. We only ate once at the French restaurant L'Etoile, It was good but the staff was more "stiff" and formal. We enjoyed the other guys better. We also ate once at the Le Grille and it was ok. But again, our favorite was the La Veranda. All of the bartenders were wonderful and they would try their best to get you the drink you wanted. The iteneray was awesome too as well as the excursions. My favorite was the Black Pearl Farm and Snorkel and the Dolpin Watch. The only negative part of the entire trip was the fact that you can't wear shorts, flip flops, tshirts, or jeans after 6pm in any public area on the ship. REALLY? We're in the tropics! Overall it was fantastic. We would go again and this time just stay in our room for dinner with our beach attire!

Cabin Review

Cabin C Balcony Stateroom

The room was small but big enough to enjoy. The queen bed was comfortable and there was plenty of closet space. You have a full tub with a shower head. The balcony chairs were very comfortable. And the a/c kept the cabin cool. There is an in-room safe and mini bar. And it was kept very clean!
