OMG!!!! ive been on 26 cruises and this being my second cruise with Celebrity.

Im a Elite member with Princess Cruises (same layout and good expectation) , 3 cruises with Carnival (yuk!), Holland America (holy this cruiseline i feel like im stuck in a Marriott Hotel with seniors).

Now with Celebrity Cruises. I did a 7 day cruise on the Celebrity Reflection last April 2014. What a wow factor cruise ship. It had everything from great food to great entertainment that was very interactive with all ages. There was so much to do for all ages and never a dull moment.

Now with the Celebrity Equinox, all honesty, rebook to another ship or cancel this cruise. You will be bored to death. On day 2 i was in tears of boredom and thinking OMG i totally booked the wrong cruise. There was nothing to do. If your into violins, classical music and a cruise director that should be fired and his assistant that belongs back to Canada at the day care centre at a senior lodge.

The majority of cruisers on this Equinox ship were over 70.

Hey listen,, i know i know, your gonna say, we will make the best of it as we do on any cruise or you read other post that are negative and think aaaah it cant be that bad, it must be the person.. Really its really bad. if your into playing card and chess, this ship might be your thing. Im not into clubs or drinking it up on cruise ships. Im not into kids running wild but atleast they keep me on my toes. But on this ship , if anyone under 45 , they were the few and they brought their babies.. really people, babies on a cruise ship.. Kids under 12 belong on Royal Caribbean , Carnival and Disney, and babies belong home, Period!

Anyways, i was more entertained who was gonna poop the adult pools seniors vs babies on sea days.

I had a balcony deluxe cabin. exceptional job keeping it clean, but the room attendant was a pain in the butt since he would knock at our door twice a day to pressure us to leave early for dinning at 6pm. One day we thought we would put a do not disturb, guess what he knocked. lol he was nice guy from the philippines, did a fantastic job and did towel animals which my gf enjoyed. thats all i can say and im ok with that.

every day, the hallways and elevators were dead,, no people, maybe one or two to be seen on our way to the buffet. We skipped the dinning room because the menu in the Silhouette general dinning room which there is only one on the ship that combines 6:30pm,8:30pm and anytime dinning, except for specialty dinning had a boring menu and we had to wait almost 45 minutes to get something to eat, the service extremely slow. The specialty dinning will set you back $90 per couple. after second day, youll want specialty dinning which can set you back almost a thousand dollars on a 10 day cruise.

On formal nights, if you read the forum, no one speak off, because its nothing exceptional to dress up for. I felt so bad for couples ,since they all look disappointed with this cruise.. funny thing it was loyal cruisers to Royal Caribbean and Celebrity roughly around 50-65 that where complaining about this cruise how disappointed it was. Im 45 and my gf is 41 We both Concurr! it was her first cruise and my 26th.

embarking at ft lauderdale was alright and fast once you got your cabin card, but the last morning disembarkment, everyone under 80 was doing express self disembarkment. the lineup was so huge it went down two floors . The many latino where cutting the lines . they let everyone off the ship at 7:17am. Cab fare to Ft lauderdale was $12 took us 25 minutes. we checked in one bag as we each had 2 carryone ,once past security which it was slow but not long, we were able to be at our United Airlines gate at 8:35am.

I like cruising out of ft lauderdale since the airport is conveniently close.

my last line will be,, Do yourself a favor and rebook this cruise to another cruise ship. I dont like knocking down ships, but this one,, im doing you a favor on my expense, even if you get a great deal.. we paid $779 for a balcony including a $190 obc (cabin credit) from our travel agent that we booked months in advance Cancel it. The whole staff needs to be fired . even the captain i could barely understand what he was saying. This cruise is overpriced for the same tasty food u get everyday from breakfast, lunch and dinner. This ship was 100% full, but you would never know it. The only classy thing about this ship was the top of the front of the ship called the loft where they had Jewish service, which didnt really interest us since im Catholic and my gf is United.

ive never felt so ripped off from this cruise. It was worse than a 100 year old seniors convention that cruised in circled for 10 days. The islands were good that we visited but surely depressing getting back on a cruise that did nothing exciting for anyone except play classical music from the 1890'-1930s.

if you decide to go on this Equinox cruise and unhappy,, please do your cruise critic followers a favour and write up a review.

Ship Ahoy for now,, we are booked for the Celebrity Summit in April 2015, Caribbean Princess 21 day Mediterranean september 2015 and Oasis of the Seas in december 2015.

one last thing,, the shore excursions where so highly inflated i almost cried for those who didnt know better. example. Barbados catamaran swim with the turtles included unlimited refreshments , on Princess Cruise its $40us, off the ship $30us , Celebrity Equinox $79us.......

in Dominica Island Tour with Emerald Pool Falls and River Tubbing

all touring companies are monopolies by the same company called Antours. only exception are the van taxies looking to give you a private tour.and they do deserve your money and give invaluable service youll enjoy. Antours is taking all their business away.

anyways these are the prices below for Dominica

Princess Cruises $65us off the ship $55us Celebrity Cruises $129us

if you get the pick your perk promo, pay under $800 for a balcony and use off ship touring companies, youll do fine,,

but i would strictly avoid this Celebrity Equinox Cruise. like i said, the whole ship needs to be fired and your doing a disservice to your husband or wife by booking this cruise.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Veranda 2C
Cabin 2C 6269

nice looking room except i had to put (3 water bottles with water) between the (over the bed cabinet) and the metal ceiling as it rattled every nite. drove me almost nuts. and then after day 2, after 1:30am late at night, there is a set of double steel doors that are for the crew access only that they leave open every night that constantly slams below our cabin 6269 all night till 4am. at 5am till 10am there is a machine making noise under the shower floor in the bathroom. i found the ac working perfect, the deck nice. The TV had lousy channels. which wasnt many. the mini fridge did not keep up low temperature . i wouldnt use it and all the shelves were removed. The duvet could have been a bit more fill with feathers. The bed was ok, wasnt stiff like Princess cruises mattresses. I found the mattresses were perfect on the celebrity reflection. would i get this room again. NO! do yourself a favor and cancel this cruise, if its too late, go on any deck between 7 or 8 or 9. avoid deck 6
