I booked the MSC Divina as part of a larger group that we travel with regularly. We generally travel on Norwegian and Royal Caribbean and are usually very satisfied. We originally booked two regular cabins for our family but decided to upgrade after reading the poor reviews. I'm very glad I did because we had a nice vacation and I think I would've been very unhappy if it weren't for the Yacht Club. Embarkation was easy and we boarded with another couple who had travelled with the YC before. The butler took their bags but we ended up carrying our own. He was very nice and we found out that he was not one of the ship's butlers only after giving him a generous tip. I had been looking forward to having the butler service to unpack my kid's clothes & keep their room in order. Unfortunately we didn't meet him for a few days and hardly saw him. I had hoped he would hang up the kid's dress clothes but that didn't happen. Other YC guests had better experiences with their butlers. We spoke to another family that had poor butler service and found out it was because they had the same butler as us. Another issue was that I was traveling with my husband and 3 sons. My oldest is almost 21 but they would not allow him in the room with his two younger teenage brothers so my husband and myself were registered to two different rooms so I had to switch cabin cards with my son. On other cruises that we have taken they were able to switch the cabin cards onboard. The rooms were next door to each other so they were able to open the balcony door which almost made the room adjoining. Sometimes the key cards stopped working but since we were in YC we were able to easily get them fixed. The gym was nice but there weren't enough machines and it was really too crowded to get a good work out in. The spa was very disorganized. Tremendous slow lines. YC had its own restaurant with excellent service. The food was different than other cruises we have gone on. Some nights there were nice choices but sometimes it was hard to find something to eat and we are not picky eaters. There really weren't green vegetables available and the lettuce was mostly iceberg (even the caesar--surprising on an italian line) The buffet was ok and the pizza was very good. YC breakfast by the pool was terrific. The drinks available inYC were excellent. The ship was spotless. The entertainment was good but the shows were early and redundant. Their weren't many options like comedy acts, etc. The musical acts in the lounges were very good. The ship didn't have some of the activities we enjoy on other ships like mini golf. They close all the pools and hot tubs at 10pm which my sons didn't like. They actually drain them. The teen club was terrific for my 14 year old and he really enjoyed meeting kids from all over as this ship attracts a more international crowd. You must pay attention to your bill. We were overcharged over $100 for various things but the concierge took care of it once I explained that there were mistakes. There is a laundry special for $25 for 20 pieces. I prefer royal caribbean's $25 fill a bag special.

Cabin Review

Yacht Club Deluxe Suite

Cabin YC1

The cabin is nice. Somewhat small for a deluxe suite. Doesn't compare to Royal Caribbean's Grand or junior suites. Still nice and very clean. The balcony door can be opened to create a double balcony if you have family next door. There is some hidden storage which I didn't realize since we didn't meet the butler for a few days and he never showed us around the cabin.
