We have been on 3 previous cruises, once on Carnival a few years ago. I sailed with my husband and 10-year-old son. Overall, this was an enjoyable cruise and we would consider Carnival again, despite a few low points.
Ship- we loved the Greco-Roman decor and the classical look of the ship. A beautiful ship. Contrary to other reviews, we found the ship to be mostly well-kept with a few exceptions of un-bussed tables on the pool deck. Pools and water slides were awesome. Great ship for kids. Camp Carnival did a good job and the arcade was fun even though prizes were lame. Everything we encountered on the ship worked fine. Not sure why others had such issues. Cabin temperature controls were good, comfy beds, great lighting etc.
Staff- one of the nicest and most competent service staffs we have encountered. They went out of their way to accommodate us. I was amazed at how well they each spoke English. Not the case on my Celebrity cruise last summer. Steward did a great job of keeping room clean and anticipating our needs. Dining staff was overall excellent. The cruise director was a little cocky but who cares. Also, guest services guy could have been friendlier.
Nice, clean and fairly spacious for 3 people. Comfy beds, nice balcony with great unobstructed view. Shelves in bathroom were awesome, good water pressure, could have used a few more drawers for our clothes. The only downer about this room was the constant vibration any time the motor was running (when we were moving). Hard to sleep with all that vibration. If that bothers you, pick a cabin mid-ship.
