My family and I just returned from a Christmas cruise aboard the adventure of the seas. We had 2 cabins a grand suite and balcony cabin. This was our 4th Royal Caribbean cruise. The only good thing was the weather. The ship is tired and so is the staff. The cabins were both dirty with stained carpet and upholstery. The bathroom in the grand suite was moldy with cracked tiles and rusty spots by the facets. The balcony cabin bathroom had a cracked shower door and broken facet. The air conditioning did not work even though they made several attempts to fix it. On average it was 75 in the cabin and very uncomfortable. The beds were lumpy and sheets were stained and torn in both cabins. The steward was great at trying to get us new linens and towels but to his dismay not much was found. Even the pool towels were worn and tattered. Finally the food was horrible. We ate at Gianni 's and even that was mediocre. The dining room food was average at best with poor quality meats and fish. My salmon was fishy every night and the steak my daughter ordered was a slice of grisel. The family we dined with were also seasoned royal Caribbeans and they were also disappointed with the food. The windjammer which had a daily buffet had the same choices everyday. The only new dessert choice was a change in cookie twice. Overall the food was extremely marginal similar to bad hospital food. Even the staff was in agreement and Said that the quality has gone down and that Miami is dictating the menus, perhaps they need to have some testers before rolling out the menus. Although we have been loyal cruises with Royal Caribbean we did not plan next years vacation with them. My advice is to try another company.
