My wife and I are first time cruisers so we decided on Ncl getaway as the ship is is brand new, we were very surprised how easy the check in was, a nice private area and we were escorted to the haven area and introduced to the concierge who explained the layout of the haven, it consists of a nice restaurant and bar area with a nice pool to relax by. Over the course of the week we were so glad we opted for the haven as it was nice to have that special treatment and uncrowded space, as we explored the ship we could see it was full to capacity as Ncl have a lot of last minute deals and offload cabins at heavy discounts, as we were in the haven the concierge books your restaurant and show times so takes the hassle out of chasing after the speciality restaurant times. We thought food throughout the ship was excellent and amazingly the breakfast at osheehans was superb, we did not bother with the shows as I read the food at these venues was poor, we did notice lots of people could not get bookings for the speciality restaurants, the shore excursions were ok but coming back was fun as they had music and cold towels for you, very welcome they were too, staff through out were very pleasant and helpful and service was outstanding. We had the penthouse 9316 which was superb, a large sitting room and a spacious bedroom accompanied by 2 bathrooms, and an enormous balcony and I do mean enormous, nice treats left in our room every evening and our room cleaned beautifully every day. I would like to say in finishing that our experience would not be what every guest on board would get as I did notice we had a silver key card and you got a very positive response on producing this card, to finish I would say if it's in your budget go for the haven suite as it is great value and we'll worth the extra money.....
