We currently have 295 cruise credits with Royal and are Diamond Plus. My daughter, her husband and our 4 1/2 year old grandson who are well up in Diamond. We reserved this cruise the day it became available to book as we were on another Royal cruise at the time. We are not sure we will continue to be loyal after this experience. While the new ship was beautiful, that was the end of our warm and fuzzy for the rest of the cruise. I think Royal went to far and did not ensure it was all going to work when they implemented it in full scale.

The dropping off of luggage and family was confused and completely dis-oriented. We found none of the persons guiding people or vehicles were in control. It was utter chaos, a typical NY free for all. Once inside we had a positive experience with our check in and that went smoothly because we had done on line registration and up loaded our security photos.. We were never instructed to proceed to our staterooms to obtain our sea pass materials. Rooms were available at 1 PM as advised. My daughter and family were able to enter their room with no problem. Not us, our sea pass would not open our cabin. We used the phone to call guest services and were told I had to go to the Mass confusion they called Guest Services. No set line, many many people who were frustrated and angry already. They asked me if I brought the wrist bands and other sea pass card down to be reprogrammed? I could not get in the cabin so the answer was no! I had to go back to the stateroom and open the door to find out everything else, card and bands, did not work. Another trip to Never Never Land. Great way to spend the first hours of the cruise and we haven't left yet.

Day one at sea started with a stranger entering my cabin at 9:45 am. I am completely disturbed and annoyed at Royal for allowing this to happen, The room steward had opened the door for the stranger allowing him to enter into my stateroom and my daughters as well. We had a connected stateroom and the pass through was open between rooms. While I contacted the deck supervisor and she investigated the incident, I was never contacted by the Hotel director or security as a follow up to reassure us we were safe and that an investigation was done to be sure what was truly going on. Our deck supervisor did make contact several times during the cruise but, that was all.
