This was my 15th cruise. I have cruised with most of the major cruise lines - Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Princess, Celebrity, Holland America and now Norwegian. In many ways this beautiful new Norwegian Breakaway was the best ship I have been on. This was backed up by an excellent crew lead by the best cruise director - Julie believe it or not - who could also dance even checked us out at the end.

The ship has some great innovative features such as the Waterfront. This consisted of two long stretches of open deck ( with roof) on deck 8. You could read in the couches provide or enjoy a drink from the attached bars or eat al fresco from some of the restaurants. We did this from La Cucina for a cover charge of $15 and enjoyed the sights and sounds of the ocean with our meal.

The fitness centre on the other hand was totally inadequate. One rowing machine for 4,000 passengers for example. It was the worst I have ever experienced as was the level of noise in most of the public areas including the library and atrium. The water park and water slides on the other hand were terrific.

Cabin Review

Family Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin M2

Excellent bathroom with glass shower doors and double sink. Cabin about average. Balcony smaller than average but just ok.
