Disappointing Christmas cruise

Celestyal Majesty Cruise Review by Corky3

Trip Details
  • Sail Date: Dec 2014
  • Destination: Canary Islands

Embarked on 20th December 2014.Every aspect of the cruise appeared to be cost cutting.

Called at 5 ports and Thomson did not supply one shuttle bus service. Majority of the passengers were elderly and each port was a long walk into the town.

On returning to the ship hand baggage was never security checked, very worrying.

In general the hot food was served cold over cooked and with very limited choice .

There was an outbreak of norovirus this meant the staff had to serve the food at the buffets this resulted in long queues as there did not appear to be sufficient organised staff.

The bathroom and shower areas were extremely small and as with most of the public areas were in desperate need of refurbishment.

The lifts were unreliable and my husband was stuck in the lift between floors, they did respond quickly.

We have cruised over 20 times including the Thomson ships but we will never cruise Thomson again.
