We enjoyed our week on the Regal very much but must admit the service was disappointing.

Overall, it was a great vacation and there are no regrets. There were many very nice things about the ship - the Lotus Spa, relaxing on deck 16, sitting in the piazza and people watching, the overall cruising experience. However, I do want to be honest in this review and let others know what to expect as far as service.

This was our second Princess experience (the first was the Ruby in Europe) and we have decided to choose another cruiseline for our next cruising experience. The ship was beautiful and clean and although there were thousands of people onboard, we never felt crowded (aside from the elevators but that is not a big deal at all). Since there are so many beautiful ships to choose from at this time, the service and the dining on the ship is what will make a difference in cruising.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Balcony

Cabin DW

The cabin was fine. A bit small but just what you expect on a ship. There seems to be many reviews about the small balconies and I would agree these seem to be the world's smallest balconies. However, since I just like to look out at the water and feel the breeze, I could live without sitting on the balcony. For the rate we got which was a great rate for this cabin, I could live with a small balcony. The one thing which is important to know is this is an obstructed view. It was misrepresented by the agent who at Princess who booked our cruise. He said that while it is obstructed, it is probably just a cable or something small for the lifeboats that is obstructing the view. That was not a fair description at all. When you are looking straight out, you are not very obstructed. However, if you like to stand on the balcony and look down and see the water, you will be very disappointed. Right below your balcony are the lifeboats. It does make you feel safe because you could honestly climb over your balcony railing (no, I don't recommend that) and be standing on the top of the lifeboat. Yet, you definitely miss out on the typical ocean view from a balcony.
